How do I print so that the background is red and the print white

I want to print a card on red paper with white printing.. How do I do this?
I have seen it done but I don't know the process.

You cannot do it unless your printer
has white ink...most printers do not.

It would use more ink...but what you
can do is print a red background with
white letters on white paper.

Technically the white letters are the
paper showing through the red but the
effect is the same.

You'd need a high-end professional printer that could handle white ink. I
don't know of any home use printers that do that.

You'd be better off printing a red background and leaving the text white.
You'll use all of your red ink up plus you may not be able to print all the
way to the edge of your paper. If that's not what you want - you need to
talk to a local print shop.

If you decide to print the red background - especially a large area - be
careful what type of paper you print on. That kind of ink volume can get
messy on common stock.
