How do I select the Project elements by default

I have created a number of views, maps, filters, reports etc and have copied
these to a live Project. How can I make these the default without copying
them to the Global.mpt on every installation of Project. We are using
Project 2003.

Hi,

You could write a VBA procedure that does the copying.
Hope this helps,

Hi Mike,

As I have users in multiple locations this is a bit of a headache. I have
written a vba script and placed it in a generic base template. This when
invoked will copy the views, filters etc to the Global.MPT on the users
machine.

I was hoping there was a method of forcing Project to use the items within
the Project Plan rather than defaulting to the Global.MPT.

Many thanks

Nelson

Hi,

If identically named items exist in the project and in global.mpt Project
will us ethose in the project.
What's wrong with your method? A customer of mine has been using it for 5
years now and no problems.

Create your own version of the required views, tables, filters,
grouping (using a different name) and use organiser to distribute with
the project, ensuring the project has your view active. If you dont
use the default views "gantt chart etc) then you should be fine
