How do I start a graph/chart?

What type of graph/chart, what is the data source for the graph/chart. What
programs do you have on your computer to create a graph or chart. Publisher
doesn't have the capability to easily do either but you can import them
easily into publisher.

Insert, Object, scroll down to the Microsoft Graph Chart or one of the other
choices.

I would recommend using Excel for your charts and graphs.

My dumbAz way...

use Excel, center on screen, hit print screen, save crop and save as a
jpg or bmp or gif, etc to the desktop. Then insert that image into
your pub :) simple as one two three four five six seven eight!!!!

Are you assuming the poster has Excel? Or knows how to convert Excel data into a
chart.
Unless the poster states otherwise, one has to assume the poster only has
Publisher or maybe Word.

From the get go that sounded like a question from an expert on here in
response to someone who asked a question about how to insert a graph/
chart, but they didn't supply any info about what version of Pub
they're using. hahaha Sorta cutting out the muddle man :)

Maybe the poster doesn't has a version of Pub that includes "Insert,
Object, scroll down to the Microsoft Graph Chart or one of the other
choices." Mine just says "Insert Microsoft Excel chart"... amongst
other thinks :)

We don't know :) So I use my work around :))

Sorry Steve, all versions of Publisher that I have can insert, object... I don't
have an old computer on right now to check versions 1.0 and 2.0, but on this
computer, Publisher 95, 97, 98, 2000, 2002, 2003 and 2007 does have Microsoft
Graph Chart. Can't say why your version does not.

I've got Pub 2.0 installed on this machine and it also will allow Insert
Object, Microsoft Excel Chart and Microsoft Graph Chart.... but remember
that it probably won't insert a newer version than what was out when Pub 2.0
was issued.

Actually I think it will - the whole point of OLE was that it was a
common interface between OLE clients and OLE servers. In this case
Publisher is the client and the graph application is the server.
