how do i update microsoft word processor?

My work computer has a out dated copy of microsoft works. (I only use works
word processor) Can I update this alone?
or do i need to get works 2001-2002-2003?

This is a Word newsgroup - you would be better asking in a Works group;
however I believe I am correct in saying that Works is a package and the
individual components are not separately available.

But the entire Works app is very reasonably priced. And for only a little
more, you can get Works Suite, which includes not only Works (with Word 2002
as its "word processor") but also a handful of other useful apps. See
