How to: Adding default "slack" to resources?

Here's what I want to do - add a certain percentage of time, say 20% to each
person when scheduling to compensate for the daily support tasks that
individuals have - meaning, let's say I have a project that in N days - and
I assign the task to person A - I'd like for person "A" to have only 80%
time available for the task, thus, pushing out the true end date to some N +
adjusted slack time.

How can I accomplish this?

The way I do this is to go and change the base calendar (Tools, Change
Working Time). The default is 5 8hr days per week. By clicking and
dragging on the workday headers (M, T, W, T, F), you can select all
workdays. Then change the working hours from 8-12 & 1-5 to just 8-2,
you've set your normal workday to 6 hrs and your workweek to 30 hrs.
More realistic for scheduling in most cases. BTW, don't forget to click
in the "Options" button at the bottom of the Calendar and change the
settings in that dialog box to correspond to the changes you made in
the calendar.
If you want the workweek to be 80% instead of 75%, just make the one of
the days 2 hrs longer than the others.
Hope this helps in your world.
