How to get formulas and functions to work systematically

I have created a couple of formulas/functions that use the start and end date
of the project , along with the current date and the percent complete. Based
on the calulation I show a 'stoplight' for each task. Currently the problem
is unless you modify something in your plan the formulas and fuctions don't
update. Is there a way to get the formulas and fuctions to systematically
update?

Thanks

Cynthis,
If nothing changes, why would you expect a formula to update? Obviously,
we are missing something.

Just by the fact the current day is changing means a part of the formula is
changing. For example my formula says if I'm 50 percent into a duration of
my task and the percent complete isn't at least at 50 percent than show it
has a 'yellow' .

Do you have your file open at midnight to see if it is changing?
Is calculation set to "auto"?
I'd rarely use the current date, but would instead use the status date for
this sort of stuff. The status date should be set to the last date that you
updated the file.

I can tell the formula isn't chaning because when I change anything in the
plan the stoplights recaluate and not until then.

How do you set the calucation to 'auto'?

Thanks

tools menu / options / calculation tab.
My point about current date is that it won't change until the next day. That
might not be noticeable.
Even so I'd stick to project status date if I were you.
