how to make the slide bar visible ?

hi guys,
am using microsoft office 97. For some reason, the slide bar has
deseapeared from both my document view and document map view. can
someone tell me how to make it visible again?

Do you mean the vertical or horizontal scroll bar, perhaps? [Trying to
remember the Word 97 interface]... if you don't see them listed in the View
menu, then try Tools - Options - View, and look there for Vertical Scroll
Bar and Horizontal Scroll Bar.
