How to retrieve email messages after reinstalling Vista

My computer crashed and I had to reload the Vista software. Is there a way
to retrieve the lost email messages? I had to reinstall all my software
after reinstalling Vista.

Did you re-format the HDD? Did you use a Recovery DVD? Did you backup your
Outlook data before you did this?
