I need major help...

Word is not showing up in my program list yet I can access documents.....I had Word(part of Works) and Word (office) from what I've figured out I had an add-in and I was told to uninstall both and ad-in and reinstall....I can't.....I get error messages saying it can't find certain files etc.....and when I've tried to reinstall Office (but remember the applications still work--sort of...there are problems but for the most part they work)my "Autorun" doen't work and I try going to set.exe and I get a message about a "patch" not being found.......I'm at a loss....what can I do now?

Uninstall completely, then reinstall. A correct installation will fix all
these problems unless there are problems also with the operating system. In
which case, dig out the Windows CD and do a 'Repair current installation'
