Inability to use see files in Window menu

Recently we had a power outage in the office and I can no longer view two
files siumultaneously. When I click on Window, it shows the files that were
actually open when we had power failure even though those files are NOT open.
The files that I do have open do not show up in Window menu. One other
thing that happened after the power came back on is that when I had one of
those files actually open on the desktop and tried to save changes, i got an
error message stating that the file was already open and I would have to
change file names. Anyone seen this problem and know how I can correct it?

David,
Are you talking about MS Project or some other application? Either way,
I would say you now have corrupt files and very likely a corrupt
application.

I assume you powered down and re-booted (that's the obvious first step).
You might try running Detect and Repair under the Project Help menu. If
that doesn't help, I would try a re-install (maybe even an uninstal
followed by a complete re-install). If the Windows operating system is
hosed up, you will need to address that first.

After you re-install Project, try creating and saving a couple new test
files. If it all works fine, the Project application is probably "fixed"
but you old files may still be corrupt, particularly if you were
editing, saving or opening when the power went out. If you suspect file
corruption, go to our MVP website at:
http://www.mvps.org/project/faqs.htm
and take a look at FAQ 43 - File Bloat? Might be corruption.

Good luck
