Info Path help!!!!

I really need urgent help on this particular issue:

In my Infopath Form, I connect to my Access DB and pull back
information that falls into a drop down list. For that particular
field *I only want to show data that does not have any dates*, the
problem is I pull everything out of access including the ones with
dates for that field.

Is there a way to separate dates from no dates (empty or blank cells
in access)? I have tried putting "NULL" in my default value but I get
an error that reads "Value is not valid for field data type". If I
put a specific date in the default value I only pull that date out --
*I want to pull the ones with no date out.* I tried setting a rule
*field = is blank**. I have tried a million different combos and I
still cannot figure it out.

Please help I have been working on this way to long! Also I am not
that great with code so please be specific in your reply.
