Inserting documents (with different styles) into a main document

I prepare large documents and insert documents (with
different formatting) into my main document. I don't want
the formatting to change on the documents that I insert
into my main document. In other words, I want these
documents to keep their formatting. How do I tell Word to
keep the formatting on these documents?
