Is it possible to set new tasks to a specific date

Is there a way to have each new task added to a project start/end on a
specific date (NOT the project start date or current date)? Thanks in
advance!

Yes,

Enter a Start or Finish date. Note however you now have to manually maintain
these dates until the task finishes. You get much better schedules if you
only ever link tasks together.

Go to Tools>Options>Schedule. Here you have 2 options to have new task start
on. Good Luck!
