Issue with page numbering - Word 2003

Hi Guys,

I have an existing document and want to add an additional page at the end of
the document - but dont want this new page to show page numbering or be
included in the total page numbering.

I have tried inserting a field code & have been able to turn off page
numbering on the last page, but am having difficulty getting the total page
numbering not to include the new page.

Any ideas? Your comments are much appreciated!

Thanks

Hi taylorj,

I assume your 'total page numbering' is for a 'Page X of Y' numbering scheme (eg 'Page 25 of 100') .

There are various ways to do this. One is to use a 'Next page' section break to insert the last page, then unlink that page's
header/footer from the previous section and delete the page numbering fields. Another method is to:
1. select the '25' field, press Ctrl-F9 to enclose it in a field thus { 25 }
2. Insert two additional fields thus: { { } { } 25 }
3. fill in the fields, thus {IF{PAGE}< {NUMPAGES} 25}
4. press F9 to update the field.

The simplest method to reduce the '100' count by 1 is to:
1. select the '100' field, press Ctrl-F9 to enclose it in a field thus { 100 }
2. fill in the field, thus {=100-1 \# 0}
3. press F9 to update the field.
