Lost Outlook Files on Uninstall! Help!

I have Office 2003 Standard Ed. Due to word merge problems with old word
merge files at work I was told I needed to uninstall Office and Install
Office XP 2002. I forgot to backup all myu outlook files (1 year of work).
before uninstalling the program. Is there a way to recover all my outlook
folders and contents? I am afraid to reinstall Office and over-write the
files that might still be on my laptop.

Outlook stores its data in .pst files (sometimes hidden). So, search your
hard drive for files matching *.pst, and tell Windows Explorer to include
hidden and system files.

Thanks! I found the file in:
c:\Documents and Settings\Cathy\Local Settings\Application
Date\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst

Anyone needing to locate the file may want to make sure they allow "hidden
files" to be viewed first. To view hidden files:
Open any file such as "My Documents"
In the top toolbar click on:
Tools,
Folder Options
View (Tab)
Under Hidden Files and Folders (Folder)put a check mark in "Show hidden
files and folders"
OK
After everything is done, go back and check "do not show hidden files and
folders" to keep from deleting the wrong folders by accident in the future.

Thanks for your help.
