Missing recently used files

I'm noticing in PowerPoint 2003 that sometimes when I go to open a file
I recently worked on, it's not on my list of recently used files. There
are other files there, but not the last one I worked on. This is not
happening as a result of crashing and reopening the program. Any ideas?

If you didn't save and close the file, but you opened another file, your first
file is still open and available and the MRU has probably not been updated. Try
going to "Window" on the toolbar and see whether it is still listed there.
Click on it to switch to that window.

Nothing is currently open in PowerPoint at this very moment. However
the list of recently used files under the FILE menu does not list at
least the last three files I've worked on. If I go to "open" and choose
"my recent documents" it shows up there, but not in the PowerPoint file
list. It's very strange.

Go to Tools > Options > General. How many entries have you set as a limit to be
displayed? There are always 9 in the Registry, but it's possible that you are
only seeing the first few in the list because of your setting.

I have it set to 9. There are nine choices there, but the last one(s)
I've worked on are not among those to choose from.
