move the My Documents folder

I am using Office 2003. I moved the My Documents folder to a separate hard
drive and would like the dialog box to reconize the new location. Right now,
I have to click on a the My Document folder in the sidebar, then on a
shortcut to reach the new My documents folder.

(I have pointed Word to the new location. It is only in the Office dialog
box that I have a problem).

Can anyone help me with this problem? I did this in the past on another
machine, but don't remember how I did it.

Thanks.

You can change the value of "Personal" in the Registry in these
two keys: (ignore the second if the value is not there)

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell
Folders

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User
Shell Folders

Alan,

Thanks for your response; however, I don't know how to edit the register and
was hoping for a less drastic measure--one that won't allow me (who knows
nothing) to mess up my computer.

If you could walk me through the steps, I would appreciate it or if there is
another solution, please help.

Thanks.

TweakUI as Paul suggests is an easy option if you have XP.
Do you have XP?
If so, use Paul's link.

If you have an older version of Windows, try this:
Tweak UI 1.33 for Windows 2000, Windows NT, Windows Millennium
Edition, Windows 98 or Windows 95.
