Cheers Andrew
Hello Andrew,
When you say the start date has moved three weeks, is it the start
date of the entire project that has moved by 3 weeks? If so, you can
simply change the start date of the entire project through Project >
Project Information. That should move all tasks which were scheduled
to begin on the original project start date to the new date you
specify. Tasks that are linked will update based upon the new project
start date and the successors will adjust as well.
If dates have been typed into the Start and Finish date fields,
creating a constraint, you'll need to use the Adjust Dates command
that you can find on the Analysis toolbar. (View > Toolbars, Analysis)
and look for the Adjust Dates button. You'll enter the new start date
of the project and Project will adjust all dates relative to that new
start date.
If you in the midst of working on a project and entire portions of the
project have been delayed, you can use the "Reschedule uncompleted"
command.
You can select just the specific tasks you want to change (CTRL +
click to multi-select) or change all incomplete tasks. If you want to
change all incomplete tasks, first make sure you have updated all
tasks which are in progress and complete. Then choose Tools> Tracking
Update project. Click in the option for "Reschedule uncompleted
work to start after" and enter the date the tasks will start up again.
If you choose "Entire project" all incomplete tasks will change, all
complete tasks will be untouched. If you choose "selected tasks" only
the incomplete selected tasks will move.
I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
