Ms Entourage reset?

My girlfiend has an Imac and has the ms office 2004 student and teacher
edition installed and has had for some time, but very recently when she
opened up entourage, all her emails had gone and all of her subfolders, in
fact the only email she had was a welcome email, as if she was just
installing it for the first time. Does anybody know what might have happened
or what to do?

Entourage keeps all of its data in her Documents folder in a folder called
Microsoft User Data. If this folder has been moved or renamed, Entourage
will be confused and will create a new one. Check to see if you can find the
old one.

If the old one is still in place, it's possible she accidentally created a
new identity. Try choosing Switch Identity from the Entourage menu and see
if there are multiple choices.

I had almost exactly the same thing happen to me. I use an iBook, and was running OS 10.3 and Office 2004 as well...suddenly last week, everything in the Entourage program was gone...address book empty, and four years of correspondence gone. The Apple Store guys couldn't retrieve it...the Entourage folders in my User Data folder were empty. And if that weren't weird enough, when I put the disks that contained my backup from March, long before this happened, the Entourage folders in the User Data file there were empty, too.
So I upgraded to Tiger, installed the new version of Office 2008, and began to rebuild my address record. Then yesterday, it did it again.

This is very nervous making! What is happening???

Are you sure you're looking in the right place?

This is very nervous making! What is happening???

Check the links Adam gave you. If you cannot find your data, there are two
other things besides user error that can cause your data to go missing.

1. Virus software will quarantine your Identity.

2. A crash will put your data into an invisible file called 'lost & found'.

99.9% of the time it's user error. As long as you haven't trashed it, you
can put it back.
