MS PROJECT - master project file, but how do i allocate resources? resource sheet is blank in master

What im trying to do is share resources from one group to another group,
each group is in its own seperate ms project file. THen they are linked
up with a master project file containing all the groups and their works
coming up.

EG:

North
South
East
West

The resource sheet doesnt show me any information of any of the groups
in the Master Project File, however in their own seperate Group file i
have already allocated Resources.

What can i do to fix this.

Cheers

HI,

The master file only shows resources added to the Master project. To
consolidate resources across multiple projects, you also need a Resource
Pool.

WARNING: A Master project with linked inserted projects and a project with a
link to a Resource Pool uses old windows DDE technology. If any of the files
is moved, renamed or over-written a file corruption may occur. This might
happen the first time or not for a number of years, but it will happen
eventually.

An alternative is to not have a linked consolidated project or Resource
pool, but to weekly insert each project into a new blank project with the
Link option deselected. This copies all Task information and consolidates
all Resource data and provides a snapshot of progress for that week. Record
a macro of you doing this to provide a quick way of creating new snapshots
(run the macro).
