MS Project Professional 2002

I have a master project with 8 subprojects. Each subproject is interwined
with the other and each resource is assigned to multiple tasks throughout the
subprojects, so for a resource there are many overlapping tasks with many
starts and finishes.

My problem is that Project does not correctly add up the hours for a time
period (I am using year and weeks for the time period display so I can see if
resources are planned for a full work week) in the resource usage view.

Has anyone ever experienced this? If so, have you been able to overcome this
problem?

Thank you for your help!

Hi,

Inserting projects in a master file does not consolidate resources.
To achieve that you have to connect the files to a resoruce pool

I set that up once I completed the subprojects. All the links are there. The
problem occurs when one or more task finishes and the next task or tasks
begin. The dates dovetail correctly, but in resource usage the hours are not
calculated correctly.

Thanks for your response,

Richard

Hi,

Be sure, they are correct.
Maybe you have a shift of less than a day.
Through tools, options, view, select a date format that incluses time of day
to verify.
