My attachments can't be opened by others

About 2 months ago we upgraded from Windows 98 2nd Edition
and Office 98 to Windows XP Home Edition and Office 2000.
Prior to that, I rarely had anyone who couldn't open my
attachments. Now I rarely find anyone who CAN open them.

The documents I'm sending are Word .docs. I've tried
sending and saving in other versions such as Rich Text
Format etc. I've tried sending from Yahoo or Hotmail. It
doesn't seem to make any difference. I run a small
business from my home and this has just about shut me
down. I need answers.

Have you tried sending in Plain Text?
The fact that you can't do this with Yahoo or Hotmail tells me this is not
an Outlook problem. Can you send a small text file (create one in notepad
and save it) and send it out via Outlook using plain text?

Thanks, butI'm not sure how that would help. My
attachments are not formatted in Plain Text.The reason
I'm sending attachments, is to preserve the formatting of
Word .docs.
