my =Rand() doesn't work anymore, how can I fix it?

Normally when I'm showing the user what to do in terms of training, I would
use the =rand() to insert text onto my document. Now it doesn't work, I have
no idea what happened. Can it be fixed? If so how?

In Tools > AutoCorrect Options, if the box for "Replace text as you type" is
unchecked, the =rand() won't work (nor will any other AutoCorrect
replacement).
