New Messages with "changes to another copy of this item"

I'm using outlook 2007 in Cached Mode. I noticed that all my incoming emails
have the following message:
"You made changes to another copy of this item. This is the most recent
version. Click here to see the other versions."
I did not make any changes, I merely opened the new mail. Is there anything
to this? Do I need to adjust something or is this normal? Thanks in advance.
