New version on one computer

Have Office 2003 on one computer, 2000 on laptop. On
system with 2003, I can save as Pub 2000 file so it opens
on laptop but file is all askew and a nightmare to fix
each time I move it. Short of buying Office or Pub 2003
again, what can I do to make working with this program
(that I used to love), a joy again?

==================================
You are permitted to have the program on one
desktop and one laptop...read the EULA.

Here's an excerpt:

=================
1.1 Installation and use. You may:
(a) install and use a copy of the Software on
one personal computer or other device; and
(b) install an additional copy of the Software
on a second, portable device for the exclusive
use of the primary user of the first copy of the
Software.
==================

You will have to call to get it activated on the laptop.

Problem solved.
