Notes function for collaboration and export

I'm currently using Project 2003 Pro and will be installing a Project Server.
I have a couple questions:

1) Is the Notes function available for collaboration use? I want to use
the Notes function for team members to input description of what they did on
a task.
2) I'm trying to make a task sheet from Project. Can I export the Resource
Name, Notes, Scheduled Start Date and Finish Date, Actual Start Date and
Finish Date, Scheduled Hours, and Actual Hours into a Word or Excel File? If
yes, how?

I can answer the second one: yes.
File, Save As, select Excel as type, follow the Wizard.

Thank you for the response. I just started using Project so I'm not very
familiar with all the functions. For the first question, I know I need a
Project Server to do collaboration. After that, can each individual user can
go in and input text in the Notes section or is Project Manager the only
person who can input text into Notes?
