Office 2000 wants to re-install when outlook express has attachments

I installed Office 2003 Professional this week and now
when Outlook Express 6 runs (my wife likes it better than
the full Outlook) and there are emails with certain
attachments the installer for Office 2000 tries to re-
install 2000. How can I stop this?
