Office 2002 vs 2003 Setup

J

JCO

Currently have Office XP (2002) installed. I have Office 2003 and would
like to install it. The 2003 version is not an upgrade but the full
Professional suite.

Should I un-install the old first then install the new?
I don't want both version on my computer. I will export the PST file so
that I save everything... that's not an issue.
Thanks

Hi JCO,

If you install Office 2003, even though not an upgrade package, it will ask you if you want to replace the Office XP/2002 apps with
the 2003 ones. If you choose custom setup rather than 'normal' setup you can choose specific details of features and apps. Before
starting and after installation of the 2003 edition check in Add/Remove programs to see if you have more than one listing remaining
for Microsoft Office 2000, XP, 2002 and 2003 apps. Installing a new version usually doesn't remove any apps that don't have a
replacement in the new version.

Note that the only differences between the upgrade and 'full product package' editions are (a) price and (b) that the upgrade
version looks for an older version when installing/reinstalling.

As Warner suggested, as with any major upgrade of software backing up your data first as a safety point is a good idea.

=========
Currently have Office XP (2002) installed. I have Office 2003 and would

Should I un-install the old first then install the new?
I don't want both version on my computer. I will export the PST file so
that I save everything... that's not an issue.

=========

Thanks >>

JCO

I uninstalled Office 2002 and installed Office 2003.
I can't open any of my pictures. I use to use MS PhotoEditor from Office
2002. I like that program a lot. I don't see PhotoEditor on 2003. What do
I do.

Currently I don't have a program associated with my pictures.
