Office 2004/Leopard - Programs Crashing

Word version 11.5.5 (090513)
Excel version 11.5.5 (090512)
Powerpoint version 11.5.5 (090514)

Mac OS 10.5.8

Recently Word, Powerpoint and Excel have been crashing pretty regularly.
Seems to mainly be at Quit or when closing a file.

I have tried FontNuke, repair permissions and a few other troubleshooting
steps, but to no avail.

Any ideas to help stablize things? Thanks.

Here's one more tidbit from the problem report on latest Word crash:

Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGBUS)
Exception Codes: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE at 0x0000000000000100
Crashed Thread: 0

(also, when I first tried to post this followup, I got a "Memory" error
message from Entourage... )

We can't do muc with what you gave us. Not nearly enough to even have an
idea.
Did you check your fonts as often described in this group??
(corrupted fonts, resolving duplicates, clearing font cache, etc)

Yes, sorry I should have included that detail... I have resolved duplicates,
Fontnuked the caches, etc.

Only recent system change of note is I created a bootable duplicate of my
hard drive for back up purposes, which mounts each time I start up. Any
chance the duplicate copy of Office (and/or fonts, etc) on the duplicate
drive could cause confusion for Office apps?

Thanks again.

Hum, I had hopes...

I really don't think so. I use SuperDuper! to create sandbox drives and
have multiple bootable drives mounted all the time without any issue.

Can you see anything that consistently pops-up in the crash logs?? Any
reference to spelling for instance?
I can't really "read" these things, but sometimes seeing something that
comes back all the time helps narrozw it down,

You can also create a dummy user account on the Mac and see if it still
crashes from there.
