Office XP Problem

I open new office documents and sit here and watch as words just start
appearing on the word and excel pages. It continues to write and write. My
virus definitions are up to date (Symantec corporate 9.0) and does not detect
anything. Any ideas what could be causing it? I really need some help here
because it messes up anything I open up and I can't create any new documents
because of it.

If you have a microphone attached to the computer, try turning off the mic.

Not a virus or gremlin - just Speech Recognition. Click Tools in
the menu bar and disable Speech.

Note turning your microphone off may not be enough since many
computers have an internal mic and it will still attempt to pick up
sound.
