Open previous versions of publisher

I have a client that has just installed Office 2007. When he tries to open
alot of his publisher files he gets the following message:
" Publisher cannot open this file. This file was saved from a previous
version of Publisher. Publisher no longer supports files that were saved in
this version."
Is there anyway to open these files? He is a little upset, thinking he was
getting the latest and greatest only to find out that he apparently can't
open 25% of his working files.

Publisher 2007 can open all versions of Publisher documents with the exception
of 2.0 and below.

No, the organization uses Trend Micro client server messaging security for
smb. Any other ideas?

We had one poster that suggested a security update may have caused issues.

You might try removing the update to see if it makes a difference. This is the

Well, these files were created with an earlier version of Publisher.
Problably 2000 or 97 version. All the computers in the environment were
recently replaced and have never had anything but Office 2007 on them.
How would I go about removing this patch?

According to the description there is no known issues with the security patch. I
am guessing folks that coded the security patch had no known problems.
