Opening Excel XP using Forms Controls in Mac OS 9

I developed a workbook with macros in Excel XP - Windows,
however, used checkboxes, radio buttons, etc., from the
Forms Control so that I can open it in Excel 98 - Mac.

1) Able to open the file in Excel 98 - Mac OS X with the
9.2 kernel.

2) Able to open the file in Excel X using the Mac OS X.

However,
3) NOT able to open the file in Excel 98 using the Mac OS
9. The following messages appear: "File error data may
have been lost", and "Out of memory", and then the file
closes.

What can I do so that I can port and open this file in
Excel 98/OS 9?

HELP!!!!!!

Not sure what's happening, but I'll start with

a) make sure the relevant updaters have been applied:

Mactopia downloads:
http://www.microsoft.com/mac/download/default.asp

b) make sure that machine 3 has adequate memory allocated:

With XL closed, select the XL icon and choose File/Get Info/Memory
and allocate at least 3 times the default value for "preferred"
(25MB should be plenty). Leave the "minimum" setting alone.

c) Rebuild your desktop

I tried your #2 solution of re-allocating memory, and I
was able to successfully open the Excel file in 98/OS 9.

The memory is now set to:
Preferred Size: 90000 K
and I left the
Minimum Size at: 3072 K

However ...

When I tried saving I get the following:
"This file was created using a later version of MS Excel.
If you save this file using MS Excel 98, information
created with features in the later version may be lost.
_To retain the information in the original file, click No,
and use the Save As command (File menu) to save this file
with a different name.
_To continue with the Save, click Yes.
Continue with Save.

When I click Yes or No, and the file saves, I get the
message "The disk is full".

Should I allocate more memory to the Preferred Size? My
file over 1 megs.

Thanx for all your help in advance.
