Opening Outlook Problem (Help!)

Tembec

When I click to open outlook, the intro box shows up and that's as far as it
goes. When I check the Task/Program Manager, it doesn't show Outlook as
"not responding". However, Outlook just doesn't open regardless of how long
I wait.

Please help.

It happened before and I uninstalled it, deleted the settings and
re-installed. It worked, but it seems that solution is not quite correct
either as I would have to lose all my emails and settings each time.

Would really appreciate your help.

One side observation: It just baffles me the number of messages asking for
help for a product that has been in the market for such a long time. What
are we doing to ourselves by using it or anything Microsoft. Nothing
against them, but I'm just so surprised by it!!!

If Outlook starts in safe mode, you might have a corrupted outcmd.dat file.
Just delete/rename this file while Outlook is closed.

Cheers,

PS - To start Outlook in safe mode, select Start | Run | Type: outlook.exe
/safe | OK button

Thanks a lot. I really appreciate your help. I did as you said and it
seems to have worked. I'll continue to cross my fingers for at least a
month.

Thanks again.
