Opening picture in new window

I'm new to Publisher but am finding it pretty easy to use as I am in
familiar territory in some ways - it's similar to word/powerpoint.

I have very easily created a simple site but have a couple of queries.

I have links on my site to a series of photos. I click on the link and this
takes you to one page at a time with the photo and links to Next and
Previous. However, what I would like to do is have a pop-up window which
frames the photo to the exact size with the Next and Previous buttons - I
think this would be much neater. Is this possible.

My second question is that I would like a link to a word document (my CV)
that can be downloaded. I have tried setting this up but it doesn't work.
I'm sure there's a good reason for this and would appreciate help here too.

The site also appears a bit one-sided (to the left) when I view it on the
web. Why is this? I am using a standard template.

Many thanks

Chris

I've now figured out the second part of my question re. word document.

But I have a further query:

How do you name the web pages so that they come up with 'sensible names'
rather than the actual name of the folders/files they exist in? I'm sure
there must be a way of doing this?

Hi Chris,

To name the individual pages, go to Tools>Web Page Options and then in the
middle of the dialogue box, you can name the individual page anything you
want.

Hope that helps.

ChrisB,

Perhaps try using the insert html code fragment feature to insert code that
will open a popup window. I have used Auto Centering Popup Window script on
this page successfully:

http://dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex8/index.html

And while you are there, look around and play with the other scripts. There
are many ways to accomplish what you want.

Your last question, by default Publisher webpages are left justified. David
Bartosik has written a lot about this issue on his site. There are ways
around it, but bottom line, live with it, or move to another application to
build your site.

You are welcome. And by the way, there was a 'wizard' to generate custom
code on that page that I haven't used, but might be worth trying...DavidF
