Outlook 2000 getting day of week with today date

S

Steve Lenaghan

A while ago my Outlook displayed the day of week. I cant find a
reference to this in the manuals, help, MS pages, and I'm not even going
to try Google

TIA

Check your Long Date format in Control Panel | Regional and Language Options
(the actual Control Panel command for this may differ depending on your
version of Windows).

My W98SE doesn't appear to support that. Curiously it was displaying day of
week on my wife's machine till I replaced her drives.

This page gives instructions for finding the Long Date format settings in
Windows 98:

http://www.its.monash.edu.au/twp/windows/isodate/#win9598nt

You'd need to add the "dddd" string to get the day of the week to appear.
In the typical American format, the complete string would read

dddd, MMMM dd, yyyy

to return

Saturday, October 18, 2003

Works, perfectly, thanks much.

We have a family owned answering service and work it 24/7 and it doesn't take
much to forget what day it is.
