Outlook 2003 blocking Office 2000 templates

after installing Outlook 2003 (stand alone), my personal
templates (Office 2000) are inaccessible from "New Office
Document" button.

if i re-install Office 2000, the problem is solved but
then i receive an Outlook 2003 message every time i start
that program up about a script error.

this leads me to use the "repair" option in Outlook 2003,
which fixes that problem, except i am then, once again,
blocked from my templates.

any ideas?
