Outlook 2003 Causing Computer to Freeze (CPU Spike)

Hi there,

I recently set up a laptop with XP (SP 2) and Office 2003 (SP 2). I copied
over all previous PST files from the user's previous laptop. Let me add
that this new laptop is screaming fast. Now here is the situation. There
are FOUR PST files that were copied over. Only the main PST file was
imported from the old PST format to the new one (user was previously using
Office XP). The other THREE are still in the old format. What happens
every time the user boots up Outlook is it takes forever to boot up...it
spikes the CPU and almost looks like it has crashed, but really it's just
taking its sweet time loading up. Each of these PST files is approximately
from 1-1.5 GB in size.

Could it be that the other PST files have not been imported in to the new
Outlook format and that is why it's "choking" the CPU or is there something
else that could be the cause of this. It doesn't matter if the user
connects to the internet wirelessly or using a wired connection. The result
is the same with both.

Any thoughts, recommendations or suggestions would be grateful.
