Outlook hangs up on Word as email text editor

Okay, this is very interesting what I've discovered. I am posting this
because it might be helpful to others who might encounter the same
problem.

I looked through Google Groups and found several messages discussing
the problem, but the few solutions that were offered were not very
specific and only suggested, or hinted at things to try. So, I thought,
hey, I fixed my printing problem on my own earlier, I can fix this one
by doing my own process of troubleshooting.

Finding the Help feature of MS Windows pretty much a "joke", I decided
to use the Microsoft Office Application Recovery program. Interestingly
enough, when its little window popped up, it showed a list of four
programs as running; one Word and three Outlook. On the bottom of this
window were three buttons for Recovering the item, End Task, and
Cancel. So, I shut down all four of them - one at a time. I say one at
a time, because I had to go back into the MOAR feature of Windows each
time to select a new item in the list since the window for the MOAR
disappeared each successful shutting down of the item selected and
clicking on the button for ending that task. As MOAR popped open the
little window, that previous item had left the list.

Then, with all four of those items gone, I restarted my computer, went
into Outlook and Options, then selected the use of Word as the email
editor, got the same little window about starting up Word, and it
disappeared after several seconds. I then noticed that my text editing
items were 'grayed', so I had to reestablish HTML format. And, as
you can see, I'm able to specify my font as before; unlike the plain
text option. However, at this point, I'm still uncertain it's
totally resolved. We'll see if anything else pops up over the next
few days.
