outlook is blocking exchange shortcut (.xnk) files

In my inbox i created a sub-folder and saved some emails in there. I dragged
this sub-folder onto my c drive and now i can not open the folder in my c
drive to see the emails in the folder and when I drag the file back to
outlook it says that outlook has blocked access to this potentially unsafe
item.

Any suggestions?

You do realize that xnk-files are only shortcut files, right? They do not
contain any email data themselves. When you execute an xnk-file, it will
open that folder in Outlook.

However, the xnk-feature has been dropped in Outlook 2007. To re-instate
that functionality see;
