Outlook Issue

I am using Outlook2003SP1 with Exchange 2003.

When I first start outlook and open either a message or a calendar
request when I press the button(s) or select from the menu any of these
functions; send, reply, forward, reply to all, accept, decline, print,
permissions, follow up, previous, next basically any function nothing
happens. The only things that seems to work is the close, change font
and move to folder buttons/functions. Once I close the item and open
it up again everything works. I have to do this for either messages or
calendar items. I have tried creating a different mail profile. OWA,
Citrix and GoodLink(Treo650 Smart Phone) all work fine the first time.
If I close outlook on my desktop an reopen it i have to open and close
a message to get it to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Jay,

Have you tried any of the following:

Log in as another user on the system and see if the behavior remains when
accessing their mail upon initially starting Outlook. For that matter, does
this occur when you log in as yourself to any other PC with the same version
of Outlook?

If it happens on your PC with another user, you may need to repair the
installation of Outlook/Office. If it doesn't then it could be something
else in your local network profile, not the MAPI/Outlook profile you've
already recreated. Likewise if it happens for your login on another PC but
not another user on another PC, something in your network profile is
impacting Outlook.

When did this start happening? Any changes/upgrades to the front/backend of
your mail system?

Any new software installed lately by yourself?

Just things to consider if you haven't already.
