Outlook today view can't change

I have uninstalled Outlook 2002,and installed Outlook
2000 - all systems normal, BUT cannot change the standard
view - I would like the one column view, but only have one
view. The customize 'outlook today'button in the right
corner of the view will do nothing when clicked.

It's just a nagging problem which I'd like to change, but
cannot. Have re-installed Office 2000, and Outlook 2000
about three times with all updates.

OS is Win 2000 sp4 Office 2000 and Outlook have all the
updates

Much appreciated if an MVP or anyone can help in the
problem.
