Sorry this is going to be a really long post but I've
tried everything. I need help because I can't update the
website for the business I'm employed at. I've personally
been in charge of the website for eight months now and
this hasn't happened since I began working with it. I'll
explain my problem step-by-step:

I open FrontPage, go to File, and click Publish Web.
The password prompt box pops up and I enter my password
and hit Enter. Then it asks me again for my password and
once again, I enter it. Then it asks me again and I give
up and hit Cancel.
Now a Publish Destination prompt box appears. In the box
where you are supposed to enter your publish destination
it has the correct web address.
I click OK and it once again asks me for my password. I
type it in and hit Enter. Then it asks me again so I go
ahead and hit Cancel.
Now a box pops up that says “A web does not exist at (the
correct web address goes here). Would you like FrontPage
to create a web at that location?”
I hit OK.
Now a box pops up that says
“Unable to open ‘(web address goes here)’. Possible causes:
1.The web server may not have the FrontPage Server
Extensions installed.
2.The web server may be temporarily out of service.
3.If you are connecting through a proxy server, the proxy
settings may be incorrect.
4.An error may have occurred in the web server.”
I hit OK.
The Publish Destination prompt pops up again with the same
information as before. When I hit OK I get trapped in a
cycle of everything from the Publish Destination prompt to
the “Unable to open…” box. It just keeps cycling me
around. So I never get a chance to actually publish the
updated website.
I would really appreciate any help. Thank you so much!

1) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all FP Temp Files
Usually in C:\WINDOWS\Temp and %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temp
C:\Documents and Settings\NORMALUSERNAME\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
2) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all hidden *.web files
Usually in %USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Web Server Extensions\Cache

To see if you can access the site, try opening your online site in FP
File Open Site and enter your URL as http://www.yoursitename.com/
or browsing to it in IE and using File Edit w/ FP
- if you can't contact your host to repair the SE
