PDF image pixelates when inserted

I have a pdf file which is perfect when viewed in Adobe reader 9. I need to
include it in an MS Publisher file.

When I insert as an object created from Adobe file, the image is created at
original size but so badly pixelated that the resulting print is too 'blocky'
to be read.

When printed from Adobe reader the image is perfectly smooth and sharp.

any clues anyone?

Inserting PDF objects is highly unpredictable; it's best to convert to a
format that Publisher directly supports.
http://ed.mvps.org/Static.aspx?=Publisher/convertpdf has some instructions.

Many thanks,

Ghostscript worked a treat. The image is pin sharp.
