Portfolio Analyzer View - connect using HTTP?

serge

I have a Project Server (2002) and SQL Server 2000 (Enterprise) and Analysis
Server (SP4) installed on a
Windows Server 2003 (Standard) in a workgroup environment consisting of one
single computer.

I need to access the MSP Cube from http://x.x.x.x/projectserver over the
Internet (port 1433 is not open). If i create a Portfolio
Analyzer View, i can not access the Analysis Server cube. However if i click
on the "Commands and Options" property on
the chart's toolbar, then edit the Data Source from let's say X.X.X.X Ip
address to http://X.X.X.X/MSOLAP where
MSOLAP is a vritual directory containing the msolap.asp file, I can now
access the Analysis Manager and
create a Portfolio Analyzer View.

I am trying to find out more about the pros and cons when using HTTP to
access the Analysis Manager. Can anyone share
their knowledge on this or have any links discussing about HTTP and MSP
OLAP?

When i choose my data source as http://X.X.X.X/Msolap, i have to specify a
user/pass or use Integrated security.
I am confused as to what user/pass i am supposed to provide here? Is this a
user/pass to connect to the MSOLAP virtual
directory? I get the feeling the data source is the MSOLAP virtual directory
and not the Analysis Server. Am I correct?

I would appreciate any help.

Thank you very much
