print distortion

I am using Publisher 97. When I change printers, the text
boxes and text get shifted out of position. Also, if I
print to a pdf file converter, it also distorts objects
on the pages. Does Publisher 2000, 2002, or 2003, correct
this issue?
Thanks
Eric

Update Embedded Objects

If you go and change the printer settings in ANY way it brings up this
message. This message warns you to go back and check all your text frames,
pictures, and everything else in your document. Say for example you have
your printer set to a Kyocera 1010 and you want to fax out a copy of your
Publisher document as a proof of a job, this message gives you the option of
declining the update, as if you do accept the Update you will find that text
frames are either overflowing, or there are empty spaces, and generally
things may have just "moved". So declining the Update you can fax out a copy
of your document as it looks on your screen. The only thing the Update does
not stop Updating is Tables, but this is only if the Tables are on the very
edge of the limits. After you have sent your fax you can then go and set
your printer back to the Kyocera 1010. It will then ask you to Update again,
and that is when you would accept YES.

Publisher 2003 is printer independent and does not have these issues.

Thanks for the replies. It looks like I don't have to
worry about changing to a newer version of Publisher
quite yet. I found a PDF conversion program that keeps
everything right where it belongs.
Thanks again!
