Problem Creating Links Between pages in OneNote folders

I can create a link from a section at the top level of OneNote's hierarchy to
a section within any of the folders I've created, but can't seem to create
one from a section in one of the folders to a section in a different folder
or at the top level.

Any suggestions?

How are you creating these links?

You should be able to drag in any file from Explorer onto a page in
OneNote, including a *.ONE file from a depper place in your ON hierarchy to
a page higher in your hierarchy.

Actually, I'm trying to create links to other sections within onenote.

So if I have a section called "ask" in a folder called "general" and I want
to create a link from a section called "tell" within a folder called
"specific," you would think you would use the link: file:general/ask.one.
That link will work if I'm in a section that isn't in a folder, but not from
a section that is in a folder I've created.

It sounds as if you're manually creating links by typing out the section
name. You can still do this but you'll have to type out the complete
absolute path (file://c:\documents and settings\{yourname}\My Documents
\My Notebook\General\ask.one) for this to work.

I would still suggest that dragging *.ONE files from Explorer is easier
and entails less typing.

Thanks.

Re read your last post after I sent my last one, and that does work, thank
you.

Clearly less trouble than typing it all.

Also, I'm guessing from the extended series of postings, that there is no
way around the "warning messages" when you click on these links?
