Project 2003 starts slowly

Whether only on my desktop, or connected to the server, my Project app takes
about 45 to 50 seconds to start. If I start it by selecting a .mpp file to
open, it takes the same anmount of time, plus another 10 to 15 seconds to
open the file. Where can I start looking to find out why?

Hi jlb,

My guess would be that there may be a virus scan going on when you start
project. See if temporarily disabling the virus scan speeds things up.
If so, you may wish to change the configuration of the virus scanner to
omit project files.

You don't mention whether this is a new occurance -- how much RAM are
you running?
