project 2007 crash

I continue to receive this crash from my project when saving a master
project. The projects themselves are very simple. The offset that's returned
from the reporting tool is 001036e1. I must have submitted 10 project crash
reports in 1 day.

Files are probably corrupted maybe due to hardware. Try:
: export the project files to some other format, e.g. database, then
reimport.
: repair re-install of Project
: complete re-install of Project
: defrag the disk (sometimes this sorts things)
: run something like SpinRite (from www.grc.com) on the disk

More than once my total project is totally meshed up or corrupted.
Sometimes project can not reopen existing files.
Sometimes id numbers become unsorted, with some lines missing of mixing up.
After that, the file becomes instable and a normally 130 K-file inflated
itself to 200 Mb and totally corrupt.

When you have to use for a real project (like I must do) it is a nightmare.
Unacceptable! I hope MS will come soon with an update.

Are these projects that were originated or edited in a previous version of
Project?

You might try unlinking the subprojects (one at a time), saving your master,
then go to your original subproject and save it as a 2007 project file, then
reinsert it to relink it. I had a similar problem, but once I did this, the
problem resolved. Nothing was corrupted, just seemed to be a glitch in
converting from 2003 to 2007. I'm using the Standard (stand-alone) version,
not the professional version nor am I using a server version.
