Project 98

I am using Project 98 (can't convince our IS Dept that updating would be a
good idea) and have started tracking a project using time only, no resources
or money are attached. We are now a week behind the original date and I am
trying to project a new finish date without having to adjust each task
individually.

I'm using a Tracking Gant and I've set the tasks for "Soon as Possible", the
tasks are typically linked with one predicessor, the baseline finish date is
now prior to today's date and the task has not been started and does not
advance until I mark the task 100% complete. Seems to me you can't start the
task any earlier than today.

Tmac,
So . . . what's the question?

If the task hasn't started its schedule Start date needs to be moved out
because, as you say, it can't start yesterday. And, if all tasks are
linked with no constraints, all the successor tasks in the logic network
will move automatically when the first task is re-scheduled.

The Baseline FInish date only gives a comparison to measure schedule
variance. It doesn't affect how the task is performed.
