publisher 2000 margin problems.

i'm attempting to print out a newsletter from publisher 2000.
everything was going well, the margins were fine. Then my printer went
on the fritz.
After purchasing a new printer and attempting to print the publication
the margins on the right are at about an inch in production size.

The margins are all set to .38" and they are all even except on the
Right side, the last part to be printed in landscape just gets cut
off. i'm not loosing much, only about a half an inch or so, but in a
publication that's disaterous. it doesn't look like it is going to get
cut off in layout view but does in the print preview or when printed.

I don't think it's the printer per say because it prints word
documents and internet explorer pages down to the .38" margin. i also
have been with online help for the printer, they weren't much help,
but did narrow things down a little bit.

i also don't think it's the publisher program because the file printed
just fine my old printer and still prints with no problems at my work
printer. the program is old and i don't have any updates for it. and
when trying to get help online i can't get very far because it's an
outdated version.

i think something is getting lost in the communication between the
program and the printer. has this happened to anyone else? any
solution suggestions?

i've attempted to "fool" the printer into thinking the paper was
different sizes, or adjust the margins to 0.0" with some success, but
then the publication isn't lined up properly within the demensions of
the paper and that does me just about as much good as having the text
lopped off.

any help would be appreciated!
David.

Maybe your printer needs an updated driver.
Even if it is new...there could be an update
available.

Try searching the support website of your
printer's mfg. If you find a driver that's more
current than the one you're running...download
it and install it. Also you should find installation
instructions at the support site.

What are your printer's margin limitation? If your document is landscape the
largest margin will be on the right. Publisher saves all print information in
each Publication. I know in the past when I have changed printers, Publisher
will do strange things to the print. If you decide to install or re-install a
driver, it is always wise to completely remove the driver first.

Thanks for the insights. i went to the HP website and did a diagnostic
to ensure i was using the latest driver per your suggestion.
apparently i am. so i'm going to attempt to unistall the publisher
program, then re-install it, lets see if that works.
